Calculation of Scattering from Each Ground Voxel

Above graphs are sample soil data used in the simulation, obtained from: Ulaby, F., and Dobson, M.: “Handbook of Radar Scattering Statistics for Terrain”, 1989

Each voxel is assigned a scatterer type. In the example above, these are:

1. Low backscatter (except at specular), such as a runway (gray in figure)

2. Strong, deterministic scatterer such as a building, plane or similar (white and yellow in figure)

3. Soil for which scattering data is available in the Anacapa database (green and purple in figure).
